What is a PSFCA East West All Star Scholarship?  PSFCA East West All Star Game Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to Alumni of The PSFCA East West All Star Game that exhibit excellence in a well-rounded educational and extracurricular program. The scholarships are made possible by the Allegheny Mountain Convention & Visitors Bureau, PSFCA East West All Star Game Committee and its sponsors, as administered by the PSFCA East West All Star Game Scholarship Committee. Who is eligible for a PSFCA East West All Star Game Scholarship?
Any former PSFCA East West All Star Game player who: Is enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education or technical school; Has attained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale for the previous semester(s). Past Scholarship Recipients are eligible for additional scholarships and may reapply. GENERAL INFORMATION - The PSFCA East West All Star Game Scholarship Committee will consider the following for purposes of awarding scholarships: (Not in order of importance)
- Academic Achievement
- Community Service
- Financial Need
- Leadership
- Obstacles Overcome
- Special Talents
- Unique Endeavo
- May be used at any institution of recipient's choice. Education program must be designed to take one or more years to complete.
- Recipients will be announced in April and receive a letter from PSFCA East West All Star Game Scholarship Committee. Non-recipients will not be notified.
- Scholarships can be used for: tuition, books, laboratory fees, other associated costs and room/board when student is housed under the control of the institution.
- Scholarship checks are awarded directly to the student after approval by the institutions involved during the PSFCA East West All Star Game Banquet to be held June 22, 2007 by the Committee.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Applications will be disqualified if the following instructions are not followed. - 1. Complete all information on the official PSFCA East West All Star Scholarship application.
- Type or print all information. (Handwritten cursive applications will be disqualified.)
- Coaches and Financial Aid Office are required to complete the appropriate parts of the application, sign and affix the school seal.
- Attach your current Official Financial Aid Package from the Office of Financial Services
- Attach your current Official School Transcript reflecting at least one completed semester of twelve or more units.
- Attach a signed and dated letter indicating that you intend to use the scholarship funds to further your education and include a commitment to provide receipts as proof of the use of those funds within 12 months of the awarding of the funds.
- Attach all information showing financial need, financial responsibility of student, student loans ad total education costs.
- Write an essay reflecting on your overall all experience of the PSFCA East West All-Star Game and what it meant to you. Describe your interaction with your East West teammates and how they have affected you in your college experience, your experiences with your host family, personal motivations, needs (financial or otherwise), leadership and academic accomplishments. Include information on special talents and special, creative or challenging activities that you have initiated or obstacles you have overcome to achieve your goals along with your college experience to date.
Essay must be typed, with your name, address, telephone number, school, state and zip code on the top of the page. Font size must be 10 point or larger.
- ENCLOSE: Application with seal, essay and official school transcript in a
9N x 12N or larger envelope.
- Applications shall be accepted starting December 1st 2008 for the 2008 PSFCA East West All Star Game Scholarship Fund. Deadline for application, essay and official school transcript is March 22, 2008. APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY MARCH 22, 2008. Applications received after March 27, 2007 will be returned to sender un-opened.

Only one application per year per student shall be accepted. Successful applicants will be eligible for one of the scholarships available. | | |
